Summary:  In part 2 of this toolkit is a guide for tribal child welfare programs to use when developing or enhancing Kinship policies and procedures for child welfare practice based on the issues/challenges presented in Part 1. Policy examples and child welfare practice considerations are presented to help inform best practice of workforce development and working with children, youth, and families. 

 

Application: Professionals can utilize the toolkit to guide the development or enhancement of tribal child welfare practice through policies and procedures as well as considering how tribal child welfare programs can pursue funding sources to sustain practice, encourage the ability to promote program services, and enhance or build capacity so that children, youth, and family needs are met.
