The Virginia Mental Health Access Program (VMAP) is a statewide initiative aimed at enhancing access and enhancing mental, behavioral, and emotional health and development. It achieves this by offering education, consultation, and care navigation services to medical professionals serving infants, children, adolescents, young adults, and pregnant/postpartum individuals. VMAP has trained over 1,100 primary care providers (PCPs) to screen for, manage, and treat pediatric mental health conditions. The VMAP Line offers same-day pediatric mental health consultation and care navigation services 40 hours a week.
