FFTA’s Kinship Treatment Foster Care (TFC) initiative is designed to promote public-private partnerships to address the social, emotional and behavioral challenges (generally referred throughout this toolkit as “treatment needs”) of children 
in kinship care. The initiative is built on the belief that children in kinship foster care experience more stability and less
trauma than children in traditional foster care, but still may have significant treatment needs that should be addressed.
