Improving Access to Care through Creating Certified Family Peer Specialists Across the Lifespan

< 1 min read

Family Peer Support services have been available in many states for several years. Initially emerging organically, these services have grown and are now recognized as a Medicaid-billable resource for families. While Family Peer Support originally focused on families with school-aged children involved in child-serving systems, it has evolved to reflect a deeper understanding of family dynamics and the cultural shift towards more children remaining with their families into adulthood.

This webinar will delve into the dimensions of family support across the lifespan, featuring insights from three unique perspectives. It will emphasize the nuanced differences in supporting families with very young children, school-aged children and youth, and adult children. Presenters will share real-life examples and practical tools to benefit participants. The discussion will also address the challenges families face as they navigate various service systems and highlight the critical importance of family support throughout all stages of life.
