This information sheet addresses suicide prevention among youth in foster care. It is written for professionals and volunteers who interact with foster children or work with their caregivers. Many young people who are thinking of killing themselves show warning signs. Knowing the warning signs and risk factors can help foster caregivers intervene and get the young person connected with assistance.
