In response to a nationwide youth mental health crisis, Governor JB Pritzker introduced the Children’s Behavioral Health Transformation Initiative in March 2022. This initiative aims to evaluate and overhaul how behavioral health services are delivered to children and adolescents in Illinois. Building on previous progress, it seeks to identify and remove barriers to effective care, with the goal of providing families with streamlined, accessible, and responsive mental health solutions.
