Rural children face major barriers to mental and behavioral health care due to provider shortages, long wait times, and travel and cost challenges. To address these gaps, the American Academy of Pediatrics created the NRACH ECHO Training Center, which uses telehealth-based training and mentoring to help rural providers build skills in pediatric mental health. Early results show increased provider confidence and expanded access to higher-quality care for children in rural communities.
