This paper reviews the 10-year journey that Oklahoma has undertaken to becoming an adoption competent system. This paper was written by Dr. Bonni Goodwin, Assistant Professor at the Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work and Director of the Center for Adoption and Family Well-Being at the University of Oklahoma who has been an integral champion for adoption competence in Oklahoma. Oklahoma has maximized the trainings and services available through C.A.S.E. and the National Center to increase their systems’ capacity to provide adoption competent care.
