# Co-Parenting Pilot Builds Teamwork Between Parents and Foster Parents

This article provides an overview of the [Rising Ground program in New York City. ](https://www.risingground.org/coparenting/)

 

The program aims to introduce parents and foster parents within a week of the child’s placement. The facilitator will then serve as a coach for both parties, helping them communicate and collaborate to meet the child’s needs. By supporting the co-parenting relationship, Rising Ground hopes to improve the child’s transition, reduce the parent’s stress, and accelerate family reunification.
